Our publications Since 1989, Slow Food’s publishing house, Slow Food Editore, has devoted itself to describing the philosophy of the movement. Its books and magazines spotlight quality food and wine production, educate consumers about artisan food specialties, crop varieties, animal breeds and food culture, and promote good, clean and fair food products.Go to Slow Food Editore
National Newsletters A true expression of Slow Food’s local identity, the quarterly national newsletters are the most direct means of communication for countries where Slow Food has a strong network of convivia. Members can contribute stories about regional foods, presidia projects, educational initiatives, convivium events and all other ‘slow’ happenings. In 2006, newsletters were produced for members in Argentina, Australia and New Zealand, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Mexico, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the UK and the USA.
Books Slow Food Editore currently boasts a catalogue of 70 titles, including restaurant and wine guides, food essays and memoirs, reprints of historical food classics and educational texts. While most of these publications are in Italian, several books are also available in English editions, and the renowned Osterie d’Italia guide will be published for the first time in English in 2006 in a volume that also includes Slow Food’s recommendations for Italy’s country inns.
